The Spanish Joan 'Nani' Roma (Mini) on Saturday won his first title of Dakar in the car category after a final stage in which he managed to beat the Frenchman Stephane Peterhansel (Mini), which had a slight advantage in general. The South African Giniel De Villiers (Toyota) won the last stage, between Valparaiso and La Serena, while Nani recovered the 26 seconds it took out Peterhansel and finished with a lead of 5 minutes and 38 seconds on the French in the final classification . According to organizers, Peterhansel stopped at the 133 kilometer special to wait for Nani and catarí Nasser Al Attiyah, co-Mini, according to the strategy that the German team had taken a couple of days to ensure three drawers with Spanish podium in the first place. Al Attiyah was third to nearly an hour of the winner.
